Biography

Dr. Joohee Hong is from South Korea. She earned her BS and MS in mathematics from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She taught secondary school students in Korea for six years as a private tutor. In 2007, she continued her education at the University of California at Davis, USA (UC Davis) where she taught various undergraduate-level math courses and won Henry L.Alder prize for excellence in teaching. She received her Ph.D. in applied mathematics specializing in numerical linear algebra. After graduation, she worked at UC Davis as a full-time lecturer. She had lived in Montreal, Canada before joining NUFYP in 2015. She was appointed Senior Teaching Fellow in 2018 and became Head of Discipline in 2019. 

Dr. Hong likes to travel. Recently, she started baking.
