Introducing new CPS Student Advisor
We would like to welcome Eric Wente, who has just joined CPS from the American state of Georgia.
Eric will be the Student Advisor this semester, taking over from Rachel, and will be your contact person in case you have any academic or personal concerns that you need help with.
“Hello everyone, My name is Eric Wente, and I am very excited to be a part of the CPS. I am joining the team as a student advisor, and I am working with the NUFYP Student Council. My background is in counseling psychology, and I have been working in student support for the past 9 years. In my role as a student advisor I work closely with teachers and students to make sure that students have all of the support needed to succeed. If students need any extra help, I work together with them to find solutions. I will connect with students through teacher referral; however, students are always welcome to contact me directly. I am available by email, although I prefer to meet with students in Zoom. This helps me get to know you better, and I can put a face with a name. This is my first time in Kazakhstan, and I am really enjoying learning everything I can about this wonderful country and culture. Today marks my third week in NurSultan. I traveled here with my wife and 2 children, Isabel and Connor, who are 8 and 6. We are staying on-campus, so if you see us around please say hello. This picture was taken in December, so we should be recognizable. The best part of my position is connecting with students, so please get in touch with me. Even if it’s just to send me an email and say hello. I would love to hear from you!”
